Monaco 19 - Pls assist

Post by siao tie » Tue Mar 29, 2011 3:12 am

Helo!!!

I am building the Monaco 19 and i would like your advice.

I have one engine 4,3 6v, 205Hp mercruiser model abt 1992.

Pls advice regarding ther dimentions of the propeler and also what kind of revolutions reducer i have to use, e.g. 2:1, 1:1 etc.

I was thinking to use gear reducer 2:1 but i do not know if i face any problem with the propeler dimension later on.

Pls assist, many thanks!

Hi Siao,
Pretty sure 1:1 would be the right ratio. My Gentry is not dissimilar but 5.7LV8 and still 1:1 recommended. More than that and you would have to fit a much bigger prop, which would alter the shaft angle too much to get the clearance.

I am sure the "Pro's" will pipe up to upset the calm of the last few days... ;)
By the time I have built a boat, I'll be ready to build a boat....
