hello again folks. just came back from picking up another engine :D . found a 1955 mark 55 four cylinder. still turns over and is basically complete. thing is, its about half the weight of the mariner 40. should provide an adequite kick in the pants  was a little dicy with two of us in the boat, hard to get on plane because of the trim issues, but with the lighter motor it should be a lot more agile. and wouldnt she look just right on the T.N.T? what do you think??

What horsepower is the Mark 55...is it 40 or 50? either way it will be a fun ride! i picked up a mint condition Merc 400(older mercs are beautiful engines...) today...weighs 130 and puts out 40 hp at shaft. should be fun :D

Hi again all. Been away too long. Now things are melting again im getting antsy for the lake. The 40 mariner was 180 lbs. and when i pick up the mk 55 its no prob for me to handle alone so Im guessing 120-30 lbs. I havent had a look lately but i seem to remember a tag with 45 hp on it somewhere.

If you have the equipment let us know what kind of speed you got out of her! I've read on this site that someone got 50mph out of a TNT with a 50 Nissan. I would bet a Mark 55 could touch that :D
