ok today tossing around ideas for my tiny might drive system someone mentiond useing a skidoo belt clutch drive set up sith the jet drive set up i want to build mated up to a 140 hp honda car engine set up. anyone ever try this or have any ideas about the set up ?
He's usually in the shop working on snowmobiles or the HOT ROD . . .where would i find him? or contact him?
Have you e-mailed Bob Hankins ? He would be your primary contact. He's fitted a 120 H.P. Honda Civic V-tech engine in a Tiny Might. Here's a link to his project in Glen-L's Customet Photos :

My post last June was about coupling a two stroke snowmobile engine to a v-drive. See the link to Olav Aaen's Clutch Tuning Handbook for specific information about the CVT transmissions :
I recall seeing a snowmobile engine powered hydroplane on vintagehydroplanes.com, but can't find the link. I'll keep looking . . .
By all means, PM or e-mail me if you need more info.

Not to sound dumb, but why don't you just use the engines matching transmission and keep the clutch? All that would have to be done to the transmission internally is weld the speder gears in the diff together, run a cv axle from the transmission to your jet drive shaft. then plug the other side of the transmission with either another axle stub or make a press in aluminum plug. That way you would essentially have 5 gear ratio's to choose from. only problem is jet ski pumps are only rated to around 7k rpm. And your honda motor makes most of its power in the upper rpm range. I was thinking about putting a built b16a that has been turboed in a small 12' boat with a jet drive. The engine is making 436hp on 16 lbs of boost. Till i realized that over 400hp in that small of a boat is way overpowered.
most snowmobiles actually begin to engage the clutch at nearly 4000 rpm. OK for a crotch rocket motor, but for std. four strokes there'd be @1000 rpm left till redline. Another not pwc motors (similar but not equal to sleds) IDLE from 2500-3000 rpm.
