Dave, that is to bad Katie Senior's houseboat is sold, $75 a night was a good deal. I see the AquaLodge link on Beacon Harbor's web site is broken, I called and the phone rolled over to an answering machine at Mariner Cove Marina that is on the west side of Bethel Island and I would stay away from there it has changed hands a few to many times. I will ask around and send you a PM if I find any houseboat rentals otherwise a trailer rental may be best this time around. Leland

Dave-Go to Yosemite.

Just as a heads up they are replacing the single bridge that serves Bethel Island on the way to Sugar Barge. The old bridge is still in service but there are some "S" curves for ingress and egress as they build the new approaches. I didn't have any problems getting through the construction last Thursday other than maybe slowed down 5 minutes behind slow moving construction equipment; I wouldn't expect any problems on a Sunday. You can check here for updates http://www.bethelislandnews.com/contests/ You cannot go under the bridge in a boat right now there is only a couple feet of clearance at high tide between the water and temporary scaffolding.

I haven't been on for awhile, glad I logged on today. I have an Audeen, I'm still working on it, I would bring it Sunday but I have to register the trailer. Bummer. However, I'm glad to see this post, I will try to make it Sunday. I live in Stockton, which is about 45 minutes from Bethal Island.

I just purchased an 283 engine for it, and will be installing it by the end of Feb. I will bring pictures of the boat and engine. I'm very excited to meet some of you and talk about boats.

Dave, for future travel to the Delta area, may I suggest flying into Sacramento, it may cost a few extra bucks, but the time and headache you will save from the Bay Area is well worth it. Also, as for wine tasting, try Lodi. There are about 40 tasting rooms and over 70 wineries. And, you can get to Yosemite from Lodi, taking the back roads, great way to see the area.

ps. to Dave and others, I sell wine from the Lodi. I don't want to plug my business but if you want more information, let me know.

Well, I look forward to meeting you on Sunday.

Greg

Greg, maybe you can "borrow" a license tag from a licensed trailer to make it there!!??

You can always add your website to your profile.

(Hint: send John and Gayle a bottle to try and maybe they will add a link  )

According to the latest fishing report there is debris in the Sacramento and San Joaquin Rivers because of the heavy rains.

http://www.californiadelta.org/fishprint1-28.html

I don't think that will be a problem for us tomorrow going to Mildred Island we'll be off the main rivers taking Holland Cut and Connection Slu. It looks like winds are going to be down to 5 mph tomorrow; when they kick up around 20 that section along Sandmonund Slu by Irish Landing can get rough and wet because of the fetch accross Frank's Tract which can be tough on the smaller boats, that includes me.

Here is the group picture of us after we got back from that nice run over to Mildred Island. I really enjoyed that 50mph ride in your Monacho Rich, that was way fun.

Here is a picture of our 4 boats that Rendezvous at Sugar Barge yesterday, Rich's Monaco, Dave's new Zip, Bill's Flying Saucer and my Wee Hunk. It was great to be on the water for the 1-1/2 hour trek to Mildred Is and back, the fog lifted at 11a and it was a nice day. I got to use my handheld VHF radio to call US Coast Guard sector San Francisco to report a broken submerged pipe that was bubbling up around a levee. That was pretty cool being called "Vessel Pegasus" by the USCG and calling them back on their designated channel 22 after hailing USCG Rio Vista on channel 16. I looked at my maps when I got home and think the three 18" dia lines were irrigation siphons for Bacon Island but at the time I wasn't sure where the City of SF and EBMUD lines cross the delta to bring water down from the Yosemite reserviors. There is underground natural gas storage just a little further east too. Anyway it was a very cool day. Leland Image

Great picture of you guys and your boats. You can really see the size perspectives of the different models. We get so used to seeing up close pictures, its neat to see them all from afar.

This was just us locals getting together to knock the varnish out of our carborators; the 2010 Rendezvous is 2 May and I hope Dave is still flying in for that I would like to meet him. I hope Rich, Dave and Bill will be posting their underway shots, I am not a very good photographer and I was busy following the purple line on the GPS but here is 1 I took without running into the rip rap while underway. My son Jason and I had a great time yesterday. We sure got lucky with the weather huh? I don't have very good "running" pics, but here is one of the guys "acting natural".

Acting natural :?: I don't see a Natural Light anywhere. Or, anyother Beer for that matter. What's Natural about that?
