Rich-Thanks for the great ride in the Reminiscent. Your boat has way more get-up-and-go than my car, quite the kick in the pants!!!
Kyle and I need to buckle down and get to work on the Squirt.
Leland-Thanks for organizing the event. Regards-Tbone, AKA Dan

Hey Guys,

Nice meeting you on Sunday. I have some work to do on my Audeen, and very hopefull to have it ready by May 2. If not I'm coming anyway. Seeing your boats, has kicked me in the pants, and I'm setting my goals, spending my money, and starting to sand this weekend. Leland, thanks for the ride, and information.

See you guys soon,

Greg

LOL, Folks, you gotta know Bruce. He'd wear shorts to the North Pole.

Not everything is etched in stone yet, but as it stands now, I'm sure looking forward to meeting everyone in May. ..... and seeing Dwain again. After I got to drive his boat in Guntersville, he's been my hero.

I changed the destination of the 2 May 2010 Rendezvous cruise to Lost Isle at the begining of this thread. Lost Isle has a reputation but don't worry it doesn't open until Memorial weekend and it didn't open at all last year. This destination will give us a protected (for us small boats) 30 mile (instead of 17 to Mildred) round trip cruise and we can stop a Tiki Lagoon if anyone needs a bio break.

Here is a link to the spreadsheet of boat builders and the boats that I think are comming 2 May 2010, please let me know if you want me to add you, your boat, potluck item or interest in the Fri or Sat get together Rich has offered to pull together. Thanks, Leland http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key= ... UaXc&hl=en

Only if AirTrans will let me strap it to one wing. lol

I think the boats that will be showcased are in bold type. But I could be wrong.

Hey gals and guys I would like to know if you plan to attend the Rendezvous 2 May 2010 so please post if you plan to attend and what you can bring for the potluck. I received feedback from Dwain and JohnB in 2008 they would like to see Rendezvous activities on Fri and Sat; Rich has offered to organize a cruise and is asking who is interested and what destination they prefer so please weigh in if interested. I am happy to host this at my home port marina and they have nice facilities; I just would like to know how many plan to attend as early and painlessly as possible to make the logistics easier for me. On the following spreadsheet those in bold have said they plan to attend. Thanks, Leland

I haven’t gotten any responses to my signup request for potluck items for the picnic and there are really only 4 firm attendees thus far the other responses are tentative so I am canceling the 2010 Rendezvous.

While organizing a church picnic last year I learned an organizer needs $2M liability to have a rented air jump room for kids in a city park. I don’t like the liability of being the organizer for a homemade boat event and I don’t want to get involved with registration and proof of insurance to try to mitigate the liability so it is best for me to cancel.

I hope to see you guys and gals on the water this summer. Leland

Leland,

I'm so sorry to hear this! I didn't post what we would bring as I thought we had time to sort of see what everyone else was bringing and then fill in where needed.

I wouldn't imagine our small group would need liability protection as it's not any different than the get-together you guys had recently...

Let me know if there's something I can do...

Leland: Sorry to see you cancel.

Weather permitting, Sherri and I are planning on cruising north from B&W http://www.bandwresort.com/ to Guisti's http://www.giustis.com/ for lunch on Saturday, May 1st. We will take one route going up and a different way back. I wanted to cut over to the Sacramento River and come down Georgianna Slough, but I don't think the cross channel gates will be open. So, we will probably go up the North Mokelumne and return down the South Mokelumne River and depending on time, maybe a more round-about way back to B&W. This is a no-host cruise, but anyone is welcome to join us. Let me know. If you don't have a boat we have room for two or three. We plan to be on the water around 10:00 am, and then back to B&W around 3:00 pm. This route is mostly smaller channels and usually very smooth water. So, even the smaller boats would do just fine.

Uh Oh;

I have been using the Rendevous date as a target to finish my little Bulls Eye and even talked my wife into showing up.
I do make a mean batch of baby rosmary/garlic salt crusted potatos though if that is enough to have you reconsider...

I fully sympathize with your decision given folks like me not signing up early enough to be worth the hassle. You can count me as #5 though if change your mind. I also would be willing to chip in some sort of off the books modest donation if that helps.
