DaveA, I like your Bulls Eye sailboat it is turning out beautiful, I remember replying to your local plywood source post a few months ago. It looks like you are using top notch marine hardware which will serve you well in Monterey Bay’s salt spray environment. PapaDon brought his sailboat “Barely a wake” to the 2008 Rendezvous and it was very well received.

I have been uncomfortable with my liability exposure in hosting homemade boat builder events since I started doing this in 2007 but I enjoyed getting people together. I wasn’t getting a response to signing up for potluck items so I dismissed the idea of asking attendees to register and sign a liability release. I used to run in 10K foot races and they all required registration and a signed liability release statement. I think it is best for me to not host an event until I can figure out how to mitigate my liability exposure or get comfortable again at accepting it. Leland

What liability??? All you have to do is set a date and invite people to a place.....IF, no one steps forward I'll have it here in Oregon City, Or....We have a nice boat launch and river that you can run up 35 or 40 miles( if we want a tour), and there motels available where you can stay, with several restuarants available...It may not be Guntersville, but the sun does shine here......Dwain, The Skiiiii Kiiiiing.......
