Hi Folks.

It sounds like the Hales Bar cabins are either all booked or nearly all booked.

I have heard from several of the group who anticipated this for us, so have reserved two or three bedroom cabins, with the intention to share with other group members.

We want to accommodate as many of our group as we can.

Let's use this discussion to post "rooms wanted" or "rooms available" messages. (specific details and agreements can be worked out offline by PM or eMail between the parties)

So... who has extra space they need to fill? Who is looking for a room on a floating houseboat or land-based cabin at the site of the Gathering?

Bruce, if it's okay I'll hitchhike on this thread. I called Hales Bar this morning here is the list of what is currently available as of 10 AM CST today.

1 - 3 bedroom floating cabin
4 - 1 bedroom land cabins
5 - 3 bedroom land cabins
3 - 1 bedroom rustic cabins

I also got the list of who has made reservations and will send that to Dave Lott. 25 cabins have been booked!

I just swapped my 2 bedroom floating cabin for a 3 bedroom floating. So there is a 2 bedroom now available.

Sorry Bill, I dragged my feet on your message...busy, busy...

I still have a 3 BR floating cabin Fri/Sat that I don't need. I'd like to share something smaller so if anyone wants this 3 BR (or 2 of the rooms), let me know and I'll cancel/share...

You know, Bob, you might be able to make some big $$$ by hanging on to it, and "scalping" the extra rooms to people who show up at G4 at the last minute... 8)

Ha, yeah...I'd be a popular guy there then, eh? :D Plus, if I DIDN'T get rid of it, then they'd keep my $650. Payment in full upon reservations, so I've been sitting on it already! 'Bout another 2 weeks and it will go back into "available" status...

Hi all...no takers so I'm going to return the cabin I have reserved Friday and Saturday of the Gathering...afraid I'll get stuck with it otherwise...3 BR floating cabin will be available after about noon on Wednesday August 4th...

a) if anyone wants to PM me with a phone number I can let them know right before I cancel and they can snap it up, or

b) it can simply go back into 'available' status for whoever might want to grab it later on...

All you lurkers out there be ready to jump on it!

I'll stay on the boat either tied up to one of the other cabins, or I'll grab a slip in the marina...

I just got off the phone with them to make a scheduling adjustment. They have 1 land cabin left

Seems to me if they treat us right this year, we should try to negotiate for better rates/more amenities/free stuff in exchange for bringing our group back again in future years... don't know if they always sell out of cabins every year, but seems like the Gathering is nothing but good news and $$$ for them :D :D
