There are no voting booth. We don't keep score. IN today's world everyone wins, you know.  All the mammas here are very proud of their children and their refrigerator and wall art. The key is to survive the task and create the biggest tale kinda like fishing. Unfortunately what happens in the G4 rarely stays there. So there is only one rule for participation, keep your clothes on and make sure that you end up in the morning with the same ones that you came with the evening before. Not even wearing shorts in 30 degrees gets a pass with this crowd. 8)

But there is one rule that does apply but will go unnamed, but hopefully you will not be the one that ends up being caught in the act.

We decided that in interest of keeping this fun and not competitive or "attitudey", we only have "fun" awards.

Keeps the "My deck was better than that one ,I shoulda won" crap out of the picture, and everyone stays friendly

All these boats are pride and joy of builders, some with more skill, some with less than others....this way everyone will be proud to bring their stuff no matter if it has a few drips and errors(they all do)

There are plenty of shows out there for serious stuff

Absolutely, and that is what makes these so much fun.

Although, I was left at the launch ramp ( ), looking out across the lake last year at all the variety of boats having a great time together running back around was an award in itself. All shapes, sizes and colors. Perhaps we can show the world how to get along a little better as well. :D

This really is all about comarderie and shared experience.

Anyway, we know who would have won the speed award (right, Hot Rod). However, looks like Paul may have some "competition" this year with the other v-drives coming.

We could have several awards just surrounding the number of zips, v-drives and tubbies coming.

As one of our veteran people once said(can't remember the exact words or if it was Kens or Bill Edmundson)

"When they start selling cotton candy or funnel cakes,I'll quit coming"

Did somebody say "Funnel Cakes" :?:

We put a lot of thought into this one. How would you ever judge "Best of Show" between a Tubby Tug, made with love for a child, and a 24 foot mahogany runabout. They're all winners.

That rough fishing boat? Well, it does its job perfectly.

Now! "Best Legs" for a fool Canadian wearing shorts at 30 degrees... That deserves an award!

Bill... you just reminded me why I chose my avatar (picture). I am actually wearing those same shorts right now, and I spent another day with my a** up in the air, trying to figure out a problem with my engine.

Let's not forget the "wet and wild" award for young Colin who sub-marined and swamped his hydroplane, or the "running with the big dogs" award for Alan in his squirt, out there keeping up with the big inboards...

Or... the "best suntan" award from two years ago... BTW... I still have the certificate and prize for that one... I'll bring it down, because I understand that recipient is planning to be here.

Speaking of awards, You know the kind of competition we know is the one where you help your competition do better than you did by avoiding pitfalls. Dave,s comment now Bruces tag line says it all. By the way I will be picking up my award this year.

Look closely at Bruce Dow's avitar. One year at the Gathering it was overcast, chilly and windy. Most people were looking for their coats.

Bruce was strutting around in shorts. It just struck us as fun!

When you meet Solo you will understand that award, too.
