Using the general area of Nashville Tenn or the general region and using the region of Branson Missouri, what is your distance to each region. This is just a feeler as I would be curious of travel times and distances. When including your reply, I think the convenient times of year would also be nice to read if indeed the gathering is moved.

I am not stating any for or against for any area. But I personally think that this information could be used by all to form some conclusion as to where to look and have some dates in mind since it appears that the nature of operation at the present location is likened to a scattered brain teenager. But i don't think that anyone is throwing the baby out with the bathwater in its present content and form.

This is just my approach even though I am an observer here if I was placed in the task of searching and planning.

From Baton Rouge, LA to:

Nashville, TN - 588 Miles
Lake Guntersville, AL - 489 Miles

I'm good with any of them.

To Branson: 3 hours 14 minutes / 213.87 miles
To Nashville: 9 hours 21 minutes / 617.14 miles
Guntersville was 761 miles by my odometer

I can get just about anywhere in the country within 24hrs (being smack dab in the middle).

Nashville 707 miles 11 hours drive 3 hours flying

Branson 1140 miles 18 1/2 hours drive 4 1/4 hours flying

Guntersville 615 miles 10 1/2 hours drive 2 1/2 hours flying

So you think I should cancel my cabin reservation?
Perhaps if its held at a different location we can entice more folks to come. The diehards will drive almost anywhere anyway.

Makes no difference to me. I will be there wherever it is. But looking at the numbers and seeing all of ya'll, it does seem that N. Alabama, N. Georgia, or TN is the best fit for the east coast. My two cents

Branson - 9 miles and 20 minutes.

Nashville - 558 miles - 8 hrs 48 minutes

Guntersville - 587 miles - 10 hrs 30 minutes.

Sorry Bill I forgot. I had a central point on my mind at the time as a gauge and a way to ease the pain for the northern guys. This will get ironed out especially since time right now is on the side of the group.
