Hi All.

I received an eMail from Devon H.

Devon is a past Gathering participant, who brought a beautiful home-built kayak to G1 or G2.

Sad for us, but good for Devon... He has moved to California, so he can't join this year.

But he did send this eMail with some very cool information about an impressive "must see" while we are on Nickajack:

Bruce,

I so much would love to be with all of you again, what a great group of people and boats however we just moved to California a couple weeks ago so it is a bit out of range now.

You really must go to the Nickajack cave for sunset. You can boat right into the entrance of the cave - its really big- and as the sun sets all the bats will be coming out of the top of the cave. It is quite a sight. We have taken our youth kids there and canoed and kayaked out to the cave for sunset and a truly wonderful evening.

Here is a google maps for the cave if you want to go. http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=104517481781450633793.000485791cbe08159d0ad&ll=34.992808,-85.604568&spn=0.022887,0.045061&z=15
Here are some interesting articles about the Cave

Johnny Cash's Redemption in the cave http://www.explorefaith.org/music/cash.html

Wish I could be with all of you.

Warren - Per Google about 7 miles up the river. That will be a cool thing to see.

Actually it is down river. Just south of I24, accorrding to that map. Gainsville FL has 2 big Bat Houses. Seeing more than 100,000 bat come out at the same time is something to see. We may go Thursday evening. Friday & Saturday, I'll probably be cookin'.

there must be a mile marker for the cave if it is on the river.
What mile marker is it?

edit:
check this out, look at the bottom in the little bay
