(Aside from some of my Bear stories) I'm bringing a small boat. Glen-L's Mr. John, I hope.
I intend to bring my Catfish ground line, etc and late in the Evening I'll gather some hired help, maybe the "Toronto Torpedo driver" or some young guy his age, and we'll go set out some hooks in the shallows.
Then early in the AM, I'll drag him outta his tent and we'll go pull the lines and see if were having a Fish fry that evening.

I may have a Story we could have a couple of kids act out, as another kid does the narrating.

We were not short for speakers or entertainment at 09 but maybe this year, with the earlier time frame, we may have more time to enjoy. Maybe two Saturday nights eh? One on Friday!

Thud...I've never heard a bad story from you...I'm all for it!!!

I'm trying to convince my little brother to come with me this year...we'll strap on our trumpets and play a little dixie for anyone that cares to listen.

Love Dixie, Rag time, Barber shop. Best of the best Trumpet/Coronet is "Bugelers Holliday"
Best Tinhorn piece is: "Tiger Rag" or Hold that Tiger from the quarter in New Orleans.
My favorite all time string piece is: "Dueling Banjos"
I tried to get the Fiddler to play Florien Zabach's "Hot Canary" last year. He declined. Said he didn't think we had room for all those people dancing to his tunes!

Yessireebob! Bring on the Tunes!

I also play a lot of my grand uncle's old tunes...Begin the Beugin (a little tune he borrowed from Cole Porter), Stardust, Dancing in the Dark, Moonglow, and some others. All were for clarinet but trumpet is in the same key so he never seemed to mind me playing them. He was pretty crusty and cantankerous into his late 80's and early 90's...after all, he made is living doing something he didn't want to do in his successful years (playing music). Anywho, there's your who's who.

Not to change the subject too much but I was just thinking how many of these old Cole Porter tunes would make GREAT names for boats.

If you can think of any of Cole Porter's tunes with titles including the word "wood" I'm sure Bob M. would be interested....

I found these, but I think Bob deserves better...
Rap-Tap On Wood
There's A Hollywood That's Good
Two Little Babes In The Wood
Woodland Dance
