Hey, hello everybody. Im Thomas and i am a complete beginner to boat building. It has been a dream of mine, ever since i was 14, to own my own boat. Recently i decided i need a hobby and while mindless wandering around the internet i found this site. So yeah, thats my story and here i am.

Well,

Welcome!!! The name AdmiralTom suggests you need a Tugboat under your command. How about a Tubby Tug to start!!! They are awfully cute and you can hand it on when you migrate to a bigger one...;) :P :P :P
By the time I have built a boat, I'll be ready to build a boat....

Welcome, Im sure you have been checking out the "boat plans catalog" and the "customer photos" sections from the menu on the left sidebar. So what boats peak your interest? The decision of which one to build with nearly 300 to choose from might be the hardest part of building one. :D

Everyone needs a hobby.. and as far as hobbies go boat building has been one of the most interesting and gratifying I've ever had.

The Glen-L plans and community are great at helping out first time builders like us.

Welcome!

I used to live in Encinitas...I bet the semi -v work boat would do well there...especially during the santanna season...hit the kelp beds for the late summer/autumn run...good luck...

thanks for such a warm welcome everybody :D
I have been looking at the boat plans catalog and the customer photos. it has been enjoyable looking through all the choices and is difficult to pick only one. lol but i think i have narrowed down the choices to two categories, work boats or sailboats. but im still doing a little research on building methods, materials, time, and money.
