I am ready to start installing the finish decking. What width should the gap between deck boards be? What material should be used to create the white lines between deck boards?
Thanks, Greg

Greg

I used 2" planks, 1/4" spaced between, and caulked with 3M4000UV. There are lots of opinions on this one!

I am about to start the decking on my Monaco. I am using 2" mahogany boards with 3/16" wide strips of hard maple to simulate caulking, all glued to the meranti plywood sub-deck with epoxy with silica added. FWIW. Doing the same with floorboards only using 1/8" thick mahogany veneers and maple strips over 3/4" Russian birch. Just starting so no experience report yet. Tacking everything down with Raptor nylon brads. I was pleased with the performance of the Raptor system in laminating and veneering the hull.
