hello recently i purchased a set of squirt factory frames from some one on craigs list and the notches for the battens and the chines are at a 3/4 inch depth when the battens and chines are a 1nch thick did they change this over the years or should i plane the thickness down on the battens and chines i had already made ?

I would see if the battens will make the bends first by clamping in the current notches, then if they will, cut the notches deeper to fit the longitudinals.

If they are too stiff, plane down the battens, keel, etc to the specified thickness

remember, the bottom of the notches will have to be "faired" to fit the angle the battens & keel will lay in at, and not just flat or 90 degrees to the frame
