Hello everyone.
So I decided to look into building my own boat this summer and I was looking for some input from experienced builders. This will be my first project and I only have little experience with working on boats. If someone can help me choose a design I would greatly appreciate it.
First I plan on using the boat for mainly crabbing in the rivers off of the Chesapeake Bay. I would like a boat that has enough space for 2-3 people plus gear for a trot-line, crabs, etc without being super cramped. Also I am super poor so I can't build the biggest and best model.

Any advice appreciated!

Welcome! I have extended family that lives out your way on the Severn and South Rivers. I just love visiting out there, boaters paradise.

Maybe look at the Little Hunk, Sweet Caroline, Wee Hunk, Jimbo. Also maybe the Powerskiff-14 or SissyDo but they might be a little small on those rivers off the Chesapeake but could be do able and would be pretty cheap to build. I've seen the water get pretty rough out there and I think you'd have to be more careful where and when you went out with those smaller ones.

See what you think and let us know if any of those are along the lines of what you want. My only advice would be build what you really think you will use the most.

Jimbo might be an option.
