Mom & dad took me to a hydroplane race when I was 13 yrs old (seems most were 8' w/10 hp). I've wanted one ever since. A couple years ago I bought a 'like new' Glen-L Tiny Titan from Bill out east. Thanks for Bill's craftsman skills, I'm a happy kid...

I started with a 9.9 Johnson until last year when I picked up a 15 Evinrude. The 50% more power is a nice improvement. At 180 lbs, I'm a little heavier than intended by the designers - I'm sure.

When the wind is calm, my wife knows that her 66 yr old hubby will be out on Lake St. Clair for 1.5-2 hours. Yesterday was a 2 hour morning on the water.

I mounted my 3 gal gas tank in the deck, ahead of the steering wheel then added a cover with a Humminbird depth sounder in the cover. It shows water temp and speed, as well as depth, but the speed registers higher than actual.

This older body needed support so I made a small box with two different pitches to the 'roof'. One pitch supports my butt when I kneel on a piece of foam rubber, the other pitch supports my back when I straddle the steering wheel with my butt behind the steering wheel and my legs straddeling the wheel. It's like being in a recliner...w/massage

Joyfully,
Jim

It's so good to hear you're enjoying your Tiny Titan acquisition! The additional support you added sounds like a great idea--those boats aren't made for comfort!
