Hello Everyone!

Just joined as I can see myself using this forum quite a lot over the next few years.

Have just received my Biscayne 22 plans and am taking a delivery of timber this week.
Have a 250 year old house and have the final window number 26 to make before I can get started on the dream project, so end of this week early next week. Can't wait!!

Have told the wife that I will be taking all meals and can be contactable in the workshop for the considerable future outside of the day job. She seemed quite ok with that, must remember to keep a close eye on the milkman!!!

Any advice appreciated, talk to you all soon.

Marcus

Welcome aboard Marcus! Glad to have you here. Ask any and all questions you would like. Also, please post plenty of pictures of your build!

Hi worsel and welcome, There are a few UK builds going on at the moment :D I am a member of http://www.cmba-uk.com/ and we have meets around England and Ireland it's also a handy site if you are looking for vintage hardware and engines.

Best of luck with the build I'm sure if you can look after a 250 year house you will have no problems with a boat. :D

Hi Marcus,

Look forward to seeing your progress. I'm down in Hampshire (near Fleet / Basingstoke) and have been building a Zip on and off since 2008. I couldn't have done any of it without this forum and the great people on here, so you are in the right place!

Please share names of any UK suppliers that you find that are good value. I currently use (and recommend) Robbins Timber for wood, East Coast Fibreglass Supplies for fibreglass, epoxy resin, paint and associated tools.

Good luck

GeorgeD
