Prospective builder from birmingham,al temporarily located in Mississippi. I've been obsessively studying this site for weeks trying to wrap my head around the boat building process. I have mechanical background and lots of patience but I think my main holdback is sourcing of wood and parts may stress me out lol. From what I've seen this site and forum are both full of info and I'm hoping to acquire plans for either the 19' Tahoe or Monaco very soon. Hope to be interacting with many of you soon!

Welcome! See my location and build. I'm a Structural Engineer and I don't have the mechanical and electrical background. But, I built the Tahoe. You can do it :!:

You don't happen to be caught up in Mississippi Powers Kemper Project, are you?

Those two designs are my favorites for inboards. I (had) no real wood working skills either, but I managed to put together something I am proud of.

Just a step at a time, lots of sanding, and epoxy fills most mistakes!

One of the best experiences of my life so far, would recommend it to anyone with the ambition to do it.

Thanks guys! Bill, i checked out your build, one of the most helpful things I've seen so far. I think it's a matter of holding the plans in front of me and getting started before ill start to grasp the concept. I work for Nucor steel in memphis and will be transferring back to Alabama next spring.

Nucor has lots of Southern Co. money I'm sure.
