Hello

My name is Fred, and i live nearby a lake and not far from one of the beatiful fjords og northern Norway.

I have just purchased the Squirt plans hoping to start my boat-building career this autum. i desided we start with a small Runabout my kids can enjoy in our nearby lake. Some years ago I dreamed about building a boat, but desided to by a 29 ft boat for holiday trips and fishing. I still cant get out of my mind the dream about building a boat, and I want to include my kids in it too (11 and 13) the main goal here is the prosess as much as the result! I know from other projects the advantages of forums like this, and look forward to spend some time here, and also share what i do. (hope my english spelling is understandable)

Regards

Fred

Relax, your english is fine. And welcome to the forum!

I agree with you the process is a large part of the project. I have found that out building a stitch and glue kayak, as well as now while I am building the Glen-L Zip.

there are guys here that are building the same model as you and will speak out when you start posting questions.

Have a great time building!

Hello and welcome.

You will be in good company building the Squirt. There are dozens of good project photo's you can view on that design and the Glen-L boatbuilder community will be a great resource to help you in the process.

I finished my first Glen-L Malahini and launched it June 16, 2012 and the entire experience has been fantastic, one of the best of my life, and my kids (7 and 12) already have amazing memories on Old Black Rum from our summer holidays.

I am a big admirer of Norway, I hope to visit some time in my future.
