Hello all! I'm Mike from Central Illinois. I have previously built a mahogony boat for sculling on ducks. It's of my own design but fashioned after an Alviso if anyone would like to check them out.

I have been fabricating for as long as I can remember. I'm also pretty handy with mig and tig welding.

So on to my question, I would like to build an aluminum tri hull. Something along the lines of a Welcraft AirSlot or a Tuffy Esox Magnum.
I'm thinking I could find a junked out old tri hull and use it as a form to work sheet aluminum against. Anyone ever attempt using a boat as a form?

Any comments, suggestions or advice is appreciated.
