Just ordered my plans for the Tubby tug. This will be the first boat I am building from scratch. I do have some experience in repairs and modifications to boats though. I am building this for my son and hope to have it finished by next spring. Then it will be time to start planning to build a boat for me. :D

Welcome,

Great little boat. Fun for kids and kids that look like adults. How old is your son? Are you planning on using a gas outboard or electric power? Please post pictures, fun to watch these come together.

I live in Summerville just outside of Charleston. Right now the plan is ETM since I have one sitting in the garage. I keep debating going to a 5hp outboard though. My son is almost 3. I am hoping to get it done by next summer so we can play with it in the canals and coves up on the lake near me. I will try to remember to start a tread and post pictures as I go. I sometimes get wrapped up in a project and forget to take detailed photos along the way. Unfortunately, I now have to travel most of the next few weeks so I can't start building till at least mid August. I have the plans now and am studying them. I will have to order some plywood soon so it is ready when I get back.
