First post, Wisconsin

Postby chasen » Tue Aug 23, 2016 2:33 pm

Hi folks,

I've been lurking on the forums here for over two years deciding what to build and when. After building two airplanes (actually built the same airplane that Roberta did about the same time back in the mid 2000's), I've made a decision to personally step away from aviation for now, professionally I work in aviation. I've purchased plans for the Belle Isle 23 and plan to start working on it this fall after I move to a place with a workshop. A couple months of plans study and shop setup, but I can't wait to get started on this project.

So...finally saying hi.

Cheers,
Chad

Welcome aboard, Chad!!! There is life after aviation. Boat building seems to be a natural progression for pilots, especially those of us who have built planes. The forum is a wealth of information and the people on it are always here to help and answer questions. We like lots of pics and progress reports. Happy Building!!!

I built the SeaRey amphib and the RV7A. Which two did you build?

Thanks for the welcome Roberta!

I built an RV-7 and then a Thatcher CX4...and then led the build of the EAA Zenith 750 STOL when I worked there.

Hi Chad. I watched your build blog of your RV7. It was great to follow. Glad to have you here. Enjoy your build, I think youll find some great benefits to building something with much fewer rules to follow and no regulatory oversight.
