New from Germany

Postby Holzwurm » Sun Oct 23, 2016 8:19 am

Hi there everybody,

i'd like to introduce myself to you. I am from Germany and I live in Solingen, perhaps known for its cutlery and scissors manufacturers. "Henkels Zwillingswerk" and many others. This town is nearby Cologne and Düsseldorf.
More than 45 years I built models, mainly RC controlled airplanes but also ships and boats. Some years ago I bought a steal motor cruiser, which has its place in the Netherlands. There we spend our weekends and holidays. For this ship I want to build a small runabout as an annexe. Three or four years ago I ordered the plans of the Glen-L "Squirt", which I want to build now.
My second Garage is already prepared to start soon. The other garage is occupied by my Alfa Romeo Spider Oldtimer from 1976, my other passion.
My every-day-car has to stay outside for some time now.
I work as a clinical pharmacist in the hospital at Leverkusen (BAYER, Chemical). I am 60 years old, my wife died from cancer some years ago, my two children are 25 an 29 and go their own ways, so what better to do than building my own boat?
I am looking forward to get many hints and also critics from you guys and gals on my way building my Squirt.
The outboard, a 10 HP HONDA four stroke, is already waiting for a new job... I sold my small sailboat, where it was mounted before.
So, at work now...

See (read) you!

Best regards from good ol' Germany

I work for Orafol, which is based in Oranienburg, north of Berlin.

I'd be very interested in seeing any pictures you have of the R/C stuff.
