Something I never considered doing....

Postby finite » Sun Apr 09, 2017 10:53 pm

Hello from Ljncoln City. I've loved the water and boats all my life but never even thought about building a boat until we moved to Oregon to a house with a three car garage. Right across the road from us is a good sized river that is popular for fishing. I wanted a little river fishing boat, and I somehow got onto the idea of building my own. I bought the plans for the Sweet 16 in January and just started building it about 2 weeks ago. I'm just about done with the frames, but ran into a problem on frame 7, which brought me to this forum. When there's something picture-worthy I'll post a pic. So far I'm about 25 hours in (I'm keeping careful records of time and materials on the project). I'm hoping to have "Clarabelle" finished by this summer, but I may be overly optimistic about my drive and abilities....

That's awesome, good luck with your build! The zip is a cool looking boat. My progress is going slow but steady....I'm learning how to epoxy now.
