Well i was thinking about building a cedar strip canoe, then i saw Joshua Burke's videos on building the Zip. Got plans for Pee Wee and Squirt .It took about 6 months. Then i waited a year to install the engine and controls before the kids came . Frames are made with Southern pine plywood is 1/4 Okoume marine grade.White Oak dash and carlings, from a tree in our own yard. I stretched the boat around 10 inches in the rear segment. I chose to use dye rather than stain on the plywood. It took on a very nice Mahogany color .Pictures soon

Nice smiling faces! Nice looking boat.

What is the power, and how is the performance?

They were very happy. They are too young to solo so i rode with each one at a time. The motor is a 1965 9.8 HP that runs very well after lots of repairs and configuring controls. On my first run the boat just would not plane. With the trim tabs i made ,very much like ones on an Australian Pee Wee the boat performs extremely well and planes in a hurry.download/file.php?mode=view&id=27103
