New member of the Netherlands, Europe

Post by Ronald53 » Wed Sep 06, 2017 12:38 am

Hi all,

I just registered and want to introduce myself. I'm Ronald, 53 years old, living in the Netherlands Europe and married with my wife for 32 years. We have 2 children (25 and 22) and 1 grandchild which is living with us.

Why did I register? Well, we did a lot of camping in the years from 1997 to this year. Partial with a folding tent which is populair in Europe and part with a RV in the States (2011, 2014 and 2016). After our trip this year which was the first time in a folding tent in 9 years we came to a conclusion; we where spoiled with the RV's in our 3 RV USA vacations.
Stumbling the internet searching for self-building a RV I came across the term Glen-L. I didn't know what that was so searched it. That way I found this forum.

I'm very attracted to the Glen-L RV plans. Even more when I found out that they also had camper plans. Because of our love for the American way of living we own 2 American classic cars; a '59 Edsel and a '72 Chevrolet C10 pickup truck. And the latter would be perfect for a camper.
So now I'm studying what the best camper would be. Our C20 is 3/4 ton so too big a camper would be a problem. I now looking at the shortest variant (Acapulco/Bayou) and the following length (Cascade/Dixie).

Hope I can make up my mind. I'm still hesitating to build my own but seeing all the people who did before me I'm confident that I could succeed in it. We will see.

Greetz, Ronald Halma, the Netherlands Europe.

PS attached our C20 :)
