Plans, books, and glue should be here Friday. Really looking forward to this project!
Hope to make it to G-12 to meet some nice folks and see some great boats.

Welcome. I am in Louisville quite often. In fact we recently bought a house in Cherokee Gardens. Once you get going I would love to see your progress when I'm in town. Also, when going to the gatherings, many times I swing through Louisville before heading down if you need a ride.

Hi Jim,
Welcome to the forum. I'm building a barrelback also. The plans are a very accurate representation of the original classic boat. Don't hesitate to ask questions if you are not sure what to do. The forum has really helped me in my build when I get stuck. Post lots of pictures as you go. The audience here likes to see what others are doing. And most of all, have fun!

Welcome aboard, Jim!

You'll definitely want to come down to the gathering. It'll take your inspiration and motivation to a whole new level. It certainly has for me.

Welcome!

Another Barrelback builder here, good to have you along. 1000 little tasks ahead of you, none of them particularly difficult and you have a forum support team when a question comes up.
Have fun

Welcome aboard Jim,

I'm a bit late to the welcoming committee but I don't seem to get on line as often as I used to. You'll find building this boat one of the most satisfying endeavors you've ever done. Good luck. Looking forward to seeing progress photos.

Hi,
I grew up on the Ohio river, I was a river rat.
Oak is over rated, everything about it takes extra time; then it warps, splits or checks !!!

Hi Bryan. Look me up when you come to Lou. It would be great to meet you.
My wife and I have reservations at a pet friendly hotel near the Gathering for a couple of nights. Looking forward to it!
Jimbob, going through your build photos often, good to hear from you.
Thanks to all for the hospitality!
Getting ready to start the battons, this has been a hoot to build so far...great fun. I'll figure out how to send pics soon.
