NEW GUY FROM VER BEACH FLORIDA
I just launched ampeater last friday, I used a 80 pound thrust trolling motor set in a motor post just aft of the keel, Instead of a tiller I put a steering wheel in the cockpit. It worked just fine. I bought Malahini plans, I would like to double plank it,, First 1/4 inch plywood and then 1/4 inch sapele planks on top. Will this work. I

Welcome to the forum. Any pictures of the ampeater? Veneering the 1/4" ply will work, but you don't need 1/4" planks. Most use 1/8" veneer.

Re: NEW GUY FROM VER BEACH FLORIDA
Thank you for the reply. How do you affix the veneer. I will post pictures when I figure out how. Soon I hope.
Re: NEW GUY FROM VER BEACH FLORIDA
You need three approved posts before you can upload pictures. One more and you're good to go. I used poxy grip epoxy. I stapled the veneers through a rope. Once the epoxy is set, I pulled the rope and most of the staples cam with it. The few that remained were easy to pull out. YOu can see pictures on my thread in power boats: "modified malahini"

Thanks for the advice. I will decide what to do when I get to that point. I am looking forward to posting pictures of the amp eater.

Look forward to seeing your photos. Always good to have another ampeater in the ranks.
