Hi, from Sunny Central Florida!

Post by SSilverback32 » Wed Sep 04, 2019 7:24 am

Hello to the Glen L boat building family. I'm extremely excited to join the community and interact with you all and hopefully attend the events. This will be my very first boat build which is starting with an extensive amount of research and finding the Glen-L site has been a blessing. I'm going to start of with the Center Console Skiff and have recently purchased the plans and DVD!
We live in the great small town of Tavares on the Harris chain of lakes which connects to the St. John's River and home to the Sea Plane capital of the world! We have an annual old wood boat show every year as well as the auto amphibious vehicle show and are looking forward to participate one of these days! For anyone who would like to share your experience or tips, I'm a complete siv at this time!

Thanks in advance for any suggests!

We've been to Tavares twice to attend the Sunnyland ACBS show in March on Lake Dora. Welcome aboard and do post pics when you start building.

My wife and I have been members of the ACBS Sunnyland Chapter since 2005 when we finished building INNOCENCE a Hankinson Tahoe 24 . WE have missed the last couple shows because of the lack of docking dew to the storm. Hope the docks will be replaced by March , we don't want to travel have our boat on the trailer . We built it to use.

We were there this year and there was quite a bit of temporary floating dock space. It is predicted that they will be using the temporary docking in 2020, but expect the permanent docking to be back in 2021. Besides the show, the river cruise is awesome.

Hey ya'all.

I live up the road from you in Oxford, right outside of The Villages.

Right now, I am in Ohio, but will soon be returning sometime in October.

Maybe sometime when I return, probably not until after the coming holiday season and New Year's is over, but I'd like to see what you are working on if that is no problem.

The best of success with your project.
