Newbie and little confused

Just purchased tubby tug...trying to cut parts and got confused on sides...are they supposed to be cut "curved" on top and bottom or staight across on bottom??? :?

Go by the patterns...the sides have a curve to them as they bend around even though they may appear to be straight lines.

Sorry for the short answer this morning...I was tired.

The panels are cut with a curve so that as they bend around the bottom(or shear,or any other piece they meet)& get wired together(in the case of stitch and glue),they will create the shapes as designed.

This also happens when the bottom pieces meet at the keel & stem on other designs.Aft where the bottom is flat,the pieces are straight where they join in the center.As you go froward to where the keel & stem make the curve,the panels edges stop being straight & you have to cut them on a curve to meet the centerline.
