Hello all -

New to the board. Just popping in to learn from you all; I am trying to get a handle on some of the information so that I can pick my first boat to build. Welcome thoughts/opinions on good first boats.

Welcome.

What do YOU want from your boat. The best first boat is one YOU want to build. We'll be here.

Bill

I am up in Northern Virginia in Arlington County. As far as boats go, right now I am most interested in starting small in order to get my hands around a project and build some confidence before I launch into anything too big. Right now I am thinking human and/or sail powered; possibly one of the 10' prams.

Glad to meet you DC71. Welcome to the Forum. Many choose to start small, so you are in good company. My two cents is to pick a design that toots your horn so that you'll be motivated to build it. Just a thought...

Yes, but my prob is that there are SO MANY that toot my horn. LOL. It's so hard to settle down to one particular design. But hey, that's why there's no law that says you can only build one.
