I just finished a complete rebuild of a 1962 Chris Craft 18' Cavalier. It turned out great and will be entered in the LHACBS show next week. It has inspired me to build a 20- 22' boat from scratch. After what I went through I think it will be just as easy and a better boat when finished. I spent 730 hours on the rebuild and about $ 13,000.00 in cash. I expect the new boat will be about twice as much money and probably 1000 hours.

Welcome to the site. I think you have indeed gained more than enough knowledge by tackling the rebuild project to build a new hull. We like pictures and digital cameras are standard fare in your tool chest. Post pictures of your newly completed hull too. Thats also an inspiration and motivation for others to plow along like a herd of turtles to the end game.

Attached are few photos of the reconstruction before, during and after. It was a great project and I recommend anyone with a little bit of woodworking skills to give it a go. There is lots of help on the web. Take you time, be patient and do it right. It's more time and more money than I thought sults are definitely worth it.

Great Job! You'll do a great job building your own.
