hello I'm 1tugnut(ed t. of pa.).I sure could use some help from anyone with knowledge of Ken Hankinson's tug boat plans ,or is, or has built any of any of his tugboats ,any replys would be greatly apreciated.

im Doug. new member. I just ordered my fred murphy plans and i will be laying the keel in the spring. unfortunately it is winter here in the great lakes area of canada and snowmobiling and ice fishing(yawn) is the pastime of choice right now so with all this snow i am not able to start my build yet--but keep in touch i have built five boats one in steel and i can assure you the hankinson tugs will be relatively easy builds. I plan on modifying mine slightly, by adding four inches or so to the keel at the stern for a plumb counterstern not one angled in towards the prop. difficult to explain. also i plan on possibly extending the frames in order to have plumb sides as well. it may throw off the characterstics a little but i cant see it being a huge difference. the plumb sides allow for better towing on the hip. and i absolutley wont be extending the pilothouse. then its not a tug anymore- i will be using it to push or tow a barge type houseboat. got a 75 hp cat diesel circa 1950 able to swing a 30 inch wheel, and might go for a diesel elctric drive. anyway any questions you ahve if i can answer i will
