Hi all,
Being fairly new to boat building I have been looking at building something but I still don’t know what, there are too many options.

After growing up racing 14.5 ft skiffs (145 to be exact) my dad just gave me a dingy/sail boat.

My plan is to fix it up a bit and hone my skills before diving head on in to a major build.

Also, does anyone know what it is?
Is has a flat bow and strange cut outs at the front to the cockpit. The sail has an M with a halo (as in an angel) on top.

any advice is appericated.

Hi Chuck.

Welcome to the forum.

I do not know what that boat is. I have never seen anything quite like it...

The hull looks like it will really move, but it looks like they created "granny seats" for a crew that does not want to hike out.

Let us know if you find out what it is.

Is the "M" anything like the British Mirror Class Dinghy "M" ? I know that there were some "less popular" Mirror models from the late 60s and early 70s. Is the sail red?

try this database... you may be able to sort based on length and beam and narrow your search:

thanks bruce!

It is simmiler to a mirror. i think you are right it might be a lesser known mirror. the sail is white with red text

it does have a mirror/home made feel about it.

the top ply on the bow is shot and there are a few holes. so i will need to replace the top deck, and reglass all the seams and paint.

Im toying with the idea of making the deck extra thick so i can stand/fish from it in the river.
