Has Anyone Here Piloted a Glen L Steelaway 35'?

Dinghies, day sailers, world cruisers. Many small sailboats make ideal rowboats or low-speed power boats.

Has Anyone Here Piloted a Glen L Steelaway 35'?

Postby saltpup » Wed Sep 10, 2014 9:32 pm

Hello folks,

I'm looking into purchasing the above mentioned boat...I've done alot of searching on the web but this seems to be the only place I may possibly get some advice or answers about this particular boat.

If anyone has had the pleasure of operating one of these, could you please tell me how she performed under diesel and sail? Would it be ok for touring the bahamas, BVI's and some bluewater cruising? Is she a complete pig on fuel? What kind of space does she have inside?

Any and all knowledge on this subject is welcomed!

Thanks so much :)

Saltpup

Welcome. I can't answer your question. But, the description and specs seem to match what you want.

I know this reply is late. I have owned a Steelaway for three years now in Ontario Canada. Currently sailing on Lake Ontario.

i have a 32hp Vetus engine and at 5.5 knots, 2300 rpm I use 1/2-3/4 gallon per hour.
