Overniter Launch

Post by indyillini » Mon May 20, 2019 6:47 am

After construction for 8 years, I was able to officially launch my boat over the weekend. I had some porpoising issues, which I was expecting due to weight distribution, but it was otherwise a perfect day and a lot of fun to enjoy the fruits of my labor. Still have to add a windshield and some finishing work, but it is officially a working boat!!!

Congratulations on the launch. I know how hard it is to have to wait that long. It's an awesome achievement. She looks beautiful. Enjoy the summer.

Congrats on the launch! The boat looks great. Maybe I'll see you out on Raccoon some day this summer.

Congrats! Almost the exact spot on the same ramp I launched my Zip from 9 years ago! Looks like the perfect size boat for your family.

Quick update for peoples information. I added the self leveling Bennett Trim Tabs and it made a night and day difference. I am now able to cruise with the family at 25-30MPH without the porpoising issues that I had, even on pretty crowded lake days. It was the best $100 investment and really worked out great. I also added a windshield and permanent boarding ladder. I am probably overpowered with the 90HP as I could get 43mph in it by myself with still some throttle left, but it is better to have too much power rather than not enough.

Very cool. Looks great. It's always nice to see these completions. It gives me hope for my own build. Thanks.

The Gathering is Sept. 12-15. at Hales Bar Marina. Hales Bar is about 35 miles down river from Chattanooga. It is about 1 1/2 miles off of I-24. There is a whole folder under Odds & Ends, Gathering 2019.

Please try to come!
