Dave, oh so true! I will be out playing with the big dogs and not watching from the porch, thats what counts.
This is my feeling about it, too. What's a little spray; just a way of saying, "Yeah, I know I have the best looking boat on the lake and you want to get a closer look, but don't get too close!"

However, I'm wondering if adding a hydrofoil to the motor would knock down the spray. Maybe if someone at the Gathering has one, it would be an easy thing to transfer it over to your motor and give it a try.

If you absolutely need a hydrofoil, then run one...I do on one boat, but I don't think he needs one.

I hate the damn things and tried everything else on my extreme set-up to no avail.

The boat I have it on is 8' with an 18 HP with no power trim, and with two good size adults,I needed it to get up on plane with the motor set (trimmed) to run after it was up.

But that is the only boat I ever needed it on.

Congrats on a beautifull fiished project. Enjoy the results.

Just thought I'd throw in something on the motor raising thing. Is it possible to raise the motor without raising the linkages? ie add a bushing of some sort so that the linkages stay at the same level as they are now but attach to the motor lower down? May be a stupid question, but who knows.
