Lo Voltage - "Aqua Therapy"

Post by treetall100 » Mon Oct 10, 2011 8:16 pm

Well it's the Canadian Thanksgiving and we brought the Aqua Therapy to the cottage where I have been dying to try it out since receiving it back from the golf cart shop on Friday. Went in the water smoothly at the ramp and worked exactly as I wanted it to.

I'm not too happy with the loud bearing noise...might have to re-align the pulleys but it ran at a good clip! My motor tension bolt is positioned a little too low and I think if I raise it it may want to pivot at more of a 90 degree angle.

The leaves were changing colors and the sun was shinning with a temperature of over 25 degrees Celsius! Amazing day to launch the boat.

Thanks for the Kudos. I think I loved building this boat for the mere fact is was something totally new to me yet using skills I had. I am proud and thankfull that I had the time to go ahead with the project and also had a supportive family and skillfull father (with the metal fabrication)!

I would have to say that the worst part of this whole ordeal was the fact that the boat sat in a compound waiting for others to fix something out of my realm. My hands were tied!!!! Very agrevating and time wasting (3.5 months), I lost out on one of the best summers this decade.

Thanks to everyone who helped me along the way in this great Glen L boat family forum! Merci beaucoup!

Congratulations Patrick! Looks like it performs to your expectations and everything worked out right. I'm surprised at the speed. Didn't expect that.
It's possible some of the noise is coming from the outboard lower end?
Again, well done.

Congratulations! I am very impressed by the speed. It really moves along well. Let us know how much range you get out of the batteries.

I really like your boat. I hope mine is nearly as good. Have many hours of fun and relaxation with great company and a good glass of wine.

Thanks for your comments on my build.

We're slated to get rain till Sunday so I won't be taking her out till then. So when I get numbers I'll post them.

Here is one last video of when I came to the cottage from the Launching Ramp. My girlfriend (partner) took it with her i-phone but held it vertically which looks weird. Oh well.

Very nice! What a beautiful setting you have to explore with your boat.

For those that missed this info on my regular thread:

Took Aqua Therapy out for her last run of the year at the cottage. I don't have a gps but I downloaded an app on my i phone that acts as a gps. It was a windy day but on average here are my Top speed numbers:

9.5 kmh...5.9 mph or 5.1 knots

I was happy to see those numbers and honestly it feels it in that boat. I wouldn't want to go any faster though as these displacement hulls tend to want to dive like a sub at higher speeds.
