Well, Number 1 son visited and had to take Mini Mii out for her maiden voyage. I don't have a paddle yet so he used my kayak paddle which promptly broke. So he used half a paddle but managed with no problem. Mini Mii is so stable he could have stepped off the dock right on to it.

I will give it a go next week. Going to order a paddle now.

Congrats Dave. Looks like a great way to explore the lake at a relaxed pace.

Nice one Dave!

You're not going to make a paddle?

Actually Craig - After looking at the options last night, I believe I am going to make my one paddle and match it to the SUP

I was shocked how stable this thing is. My son jumped in the water and climbed right up on it. I fully expected it to flip. It did not. He got on his knees and stood right up. Dang, what is the big deal!!! He stated he could have stepped right off the dock on to it and now calls it the "4 season craft" for he can use it in winter without getting wet.

I am anxious to try it out next week but have to get thru wedding weekend with my youngest son first

Congrats on another project launch. I really wanted to build one and my wife was all for it. But now she has now decided we have enough stuff. We rented a 10ft plastic SUP earlier this year and everyone just walked right onto it and paddled away. Maybe after I clean out the garage and do some serious organizing, I'll get the green light again.
