Congrats - she lives. My ZIP with a '59 Marc Mark35A will hit 30 MPH @ 5,600 RPM, with a 3 blade, 10" dia., 10" pitch prop, so I'm sure in better conditions you should easily be in the low 30's, close to mid 30's. and a 13" pitch should be close if not right on, only RPM and MPH readings will tune the prop.

You are a trooper to slog it out in that weather! Good news is now you know she can handle the rough stuff, the rest will be a piece of cake.

Now you know that bilge pumps are good things.

Again, congrats, that engine humming is music to your ears :)
This is my first, last and only boat build.

Thanks for the support gang.

I took it out Saturday and Sunday. Both days were very rough, but Sunday was the worst. Even after towing back to camp with the plugs out, I lifted on the tongue and dumped a couple of gallons out of the bilge.

Gonna get to work on casting some brackets for a windshield in the coming days. I hope chrome plating isn't too pricey.

Andy. Most flat bottom wood boats are not choppy water boats.
I was out over the week end here in southeast Ohio on Seneca Lake and with all the 400hp boat that are now allowed on this 3500 acre lake it is way to choppy for my Zip and even my 17ft Century Resorter 1966. When you hit a wake the wrong way and the slam down on the water and make that awful noise it scares the H out of you.
