Bill's Bartender.

Postby Bill Edmundson » Sat Oct 01, 2016 11:11 am

I put her in the water the first time at the Gathering, G-10. The engine, Yamaha 115, is in break-in. The first hour is under 2000 rpm which gives 6 - 9 mph. The second hour is at minimum plane. That is about 3000 rpm which gives about 18-20 mph. I'm still working on the second hour. We had a few minor issues.

This coming week, I'll be back on the water. After 2 hours you can run it up and down the power range for the next 8 hours. I'm still learning.

I do see that the water seems to come off the transom clean. More as I go.

Chug

I plan on a full set of canvas. I want a Bimini with a short closer and a full enclosure. I know it can be done, if I can fine somebody who can do it.

Looks great Bill! I love the picture at the dock at Hales Bar, it almost looks like a cruise liner in that photo!

I have a problem with the Yamaha instruments reading the Lowrance GPS. I didn't record different performance numbers. But, Yamaha says WOT should be between 5300 & 6300 RPM. I turned 6000 RPM and running 35 MPH. Speed from the Lowrance and a handheld GPS. That is right on expectations.

This thing will really make a tight turn. It banks like an airplane! The down side is that it's difficult to handle at the dock.
