Im stuck! I have a 63 Evinrude that has push button start and kill switches on the motor. I am trying to wire into a three pole ignition switch. I am assuming that I need to run a wire from the S pole of the switch to the fuse block and then to the S pole on the starter solenoid. As well as running a wire from the I pole of the switch through the fuse block and to the I terminal on the solenoid. I think this will start the engine but where do the two wires on the kill switch need to go? Am I totally wrong here?

Just a shot here. Many ignition switches have three terminals B S & I

B for Battery power coming in to the switch

I for ignition, ie. anything that should be 'hot' when the key is 'ON' - normally run through a 'fuse' after ignition switch - ie. guages

S for start, gets power only when key is full turned to start position, feeds starter solenoid circuit, can run through fuse if you want but not always done so. Most starter solenoids only have one wire feed, and that is to 'energize' the solenoid - most do not get an ignition feed.

Not sure about a 'kill' switch on the engine, unless, perhaps, it grounds out the ignition feed or is in series with the ignition feed.
