hi, ive got my ply ,meranti very nice looking and i dont want to paint it ,can u build a seamless joint or close to it :?: anybody have some pics of the joints :?: thanks

You are going to see the joint. But, many very nice boats have done this. Before you cut anything try to match the color and grain of the sheets. Obviously you don't want a light sheet next to a dark sheet. The grain will be more difficult.

Tom Drake has a great example. I think it is a Zip. But, you can still see the joint.

You can either butt block the joints or scarf join them. I scarfed and am happy with the results.

I plan on a fancy paint accent that will hide the joint lines on the sides.

I have had pretty good luck with butt joints before. These aren't my best. The best one is on the other side, but I can't get to it to take a picture. :oops: :roll: I figured this picture would give you an idea.

On the pontoon I'm having to do scarf joints because the joints fall right on a frame. Here is a shot of one. The top of the picture shows what I'm talking about with the frame. Don't laugh too hard I'm still learning.
