The linseed oil was the base for the Interlux red mahogany filler stain and got a treatment of two coats of 1026 Interlux wood sealer over the four coats of color. Of course we have only just begun the varnish work.

I plan on installing wooden rails with half oval stainless steel trimmings. I need to check all the surfaces along the filler rails and the edges of the deck planking which was cut on an angle so that the rails lay vertical when against a dock pole. With the sides flared in the dory fashion, you do not want the rails to be flat to the sides either, hince the reason to cut a wedge filler rail piece. The reason I add the piece after I do the covering board planking is that I don't want to have any issues with dings that breaks the finish on the decking. Its really easy to correct or spot in any finish thats on the outer rails and break it at the seamline of the rails to the decking.
