Hi Bob,

Can't specifically reference utile for boat building but I used it to build a 'hope chest' when my niece got married. Did some research at the time and several highly recommended it for exterior doors. It had some nice fine and straight grain and worked well without wearing bits out as badly as some of the 'harder' exotics. I would use it for frames without hesitation.

I seem to recall a FED publised paper on wood and wood usablilty. I dont know how to look that stuff up though.
I saw part of it years ago when we were discussing which Oak to use.
