In looking at the building form, when the hull is ready to flip do you remove the 2x6" building form first and then flip?

When building the zip, i removed the building form before the flip but many people flip with the form attached. Shouldnt make a difference. I removed mine because i had some time before i could get some help with the flip...just staying busy.

Thanks,it was more a question of the building of the form and being able to take it apart after the hull is built. I almost made it so it would not come apart! Of course their is always the sawzall !!!
Thanks

Yep. Nothing like a sawzall to take care of a little building form! ...but seriously, when you are building the form and attaching frame members (especially the stem and breasthook), make sure the temporary screws used to attach the members are going to be accessible after the plywood is added to the hull. I placed two screws vertically through the breasthook, down into the building form. Someone noticed that in one of the pictures I posted and notified me that if those two screws were left in and the plywood hull installed, the screws would not be able to be removed! (because the hull would make the heads of the screws inaccessible) Long story short.....try to plan ahead.

I flipped my Zip with it still attached, it almost doubles the weight but still no problem with a few friends to help flip. Its hard to get at all the screws with it upside down. Doesnt really matter on a boat the size as being discussed here.

I left it attached and attached my flipping frame to it then removed it all afterwards.

I made sure I could detach the breasthook from the form and then unscrewed the uprights from the base and when we flipped it, the base stayed on the floor. That helped reduce some weight.
