Solo,

Try the lodge first. It's close to everything. And, probably the best price.

Denzil, sorry to hear of your Dad's passing but I am very glad you and he came up from LA to be with us at Bethel Island in May. I loved that homemade Jamican jerk chicken you brought too, yum, is that what you are taking to the Gathering? How is the A-Lure comming along?

Bill, I promise not to hyjack your Gathering thread. Leland

Kens
Just wondering whether I should reserve now or wait until I get there.Would not wish to reserve a room now only to find out there is planned jack hammering when I arrive. Not familiar with locality to wing it based on seasonal demand. The question is do you think I'll be able to find something on the night of the 24th. Thanks

Just about everywhere I go, I make reservations as far in advance as possible. Use a credit card, and the reservation can be upgraded, downgraded, changed or whatever. That way I am assured I got a place to sleep & shower. Most recently I worked a gig out west, in no-man's land. I had reservations at 3 different places, arrived early, picked the best and cancelled the rest.
So, umm, yeah, I would make reservation well in advance, and if you hear of a better deal, then take that one.
Please let us know so that we can put you on the 'who's coming' posting.

Solo,

The state park is really great about reservations. And, If something comes up it's no big deal.

But, call now. It's a very popular time of year.

OK all...

I am "officially" helping with the registration process...

I hope to start developing an eMail and contact list.

I will send out some pre-registration information and forms to those who are coming (or might be coming).

The goals of this information are:

1) safety of all participants
2) ease of communication (we will distribute a list of eMails and phone numbers to participants)
3) gathering boat and builder information for pre-printed "boat info signs"
4) pre-printing name tags.

I would appreciate it if everyone who WILL come or who MIGHT come would send me a PM with their eMail ID. I can send the forms to you to fill in for us.

Thanks, in advance.

Bruce.
Bruce.

Denzil,

I'm so glad you'll be at the Gathering! And, I am so sorry about your Dad--what a wonderfully delightful man he was. Just this morning I received an email from someone who had just watched the video and said that they particularly liked the cameo of you and your dad... what a loss--I'm so glad to have been able to meet him...

Thanks Leland and Gayle . I know he was glad to have met all you guys.He never had a hobby until we started planning then actually building this boat. He is in a place with the best boat designer of them all. Now I am going to meet the extended family.

FORGET THE LODGE IT HAS BEEN BOOKED FULL....I checked quite sometime ago and it is full and needs booking months ahead.....
I rented a place at the Holiday Inn but did not like the fact that it is a non-refundable due to getting lower rates for 4 days.

They're all right there together.
