How can we help?

Postby Bill Yonescu » Mon Oct 20, 2008 5:43 pm

Hi All,

Well with only a few days to go it looks like we will definitely be able to attend. There were a few worries.

We can bring a 42 cup coffee urn along with coffee... either decaf or high test or both. Also have a 24 x 12 electric griddle that might help along the way. Also have a sterno fired 4 qt covered chaffing dish and a small 700 -800 watt microwave. We'd be happy to pitch it with the cooking - just point us in the right direction.

Please let us know if any of this stuff is needed… If not let us know what else might be needed or wanted.

Looking forward to meeting all and having a great weekend.

Bill.

If you have room to bring that stuff we may be able to use it.

I know Butch is bringing a coffee urn, but with our numbers, we may need two.

We can definitely use an extra griddle, and a pair of hands to man it.

I'm not sure I know what a Chafing Dish is, but if it keeps things warm, it will come in handy.

Excellent!

Also, the store at the foot of Sand Mountain before you cross the lake is a Food World not Winn Dixie.

I was just informed that the FoodWorld is now a "Southern Home" grocery for what it's worth.

Was also told that if coming up from Albertville that it was shorter to head east at Albertville to get to the park as opposed to going thru Guntersville.

Not sure that I trust these directions from Google though

Continue to follow AL-1/US-431
Slight right at Rose Rd 4.8 mi
Slight left at Hustleville Rd 1.2 mi
Turn right at Seibold Rd 0.2 mi
Turn right at AL-227 2.5 mi

If mapquest routes you in on Marling Gap Rd, don't do it if you have much of a trailer. It has a one lane hairpin turn on to a one lane bridge.

Go on into Guntersville and catch 227 there. It is a much better road.

Bill,
I know I signed up late, but I'd like to do my part. I should be there for supper Fri; breakfast Sat; and maybe lunch. What can I do to help with food, prep, etc? Don't want to be a freeloader. If nothing else, I'll pitch in some $'s and some labor.
