Cabins Available

Postby BruceDow » Mon Sep 08, 2008 2:27 pm

Breaking News!

I just heard from Leakcheck, and there are Lakeside Cabins available.

Last year, he booked all of the available cabins on his credit card.

Leakcheck called the park today, and they say that there are FIVE of these cabins still available.

When one of us wants one, we call the park, and use the code CDGLEN.

For Cabin, Chalet, and Lodge Information:
1-800-548-4553 or 256-571-5440
Lodge Fax: 256-571-5459
info@guntersvillestatepark.com

They will take the reservation off Leakcheck's card and put it on yours.

First-Come, First-Served.

(The cabins have two large bedrooms, and a large living room area which could also serve for sleeping... they are good for a group of up to six people... feel free to use this thread to organize sharing among singles or smaller groups)

Leakcheck will hold them for another two or three weeks for us.

THANKS, LEAKCHECK!!!
Bruce.

Bruce,

Thanks for following up on this. I had to get on the road this morning. I'll just add that the cabins are very reasonable and the center of most of the Gathering activities.

It would be great if anyone who books any of those available cabins leaves a post on this thread, so that we can collectively keep an eye on the availability.

Thanks.
Bruce.

Anyone interested in sharing a cabin?

Postby kmurphy826 » Sat Sep 13, 2008 11:38 am

"Middle-aged couple with no children
Attending Glen-L Gathering 2008
Seeking like couple to share Lakeside cabin"

Just Kidding!!! :)
Seriously, we are attending and would like to be near the action. However, we don't want to take up a cabin for just the two of us. If you are interested in sharing the space and cost, let us know.

Guys,

Here is the current info on the cabins :

The following names have been tagged for cabins:

Kens
Bruce Dow
Summerlain ?
Bill Edmunson
Bob Londress
Gail Brantuk
Porter Harvey
Murphy

That leaves a total of four (4) available. I will call and take them out of reserve tomorrow at about 2PM eastern, so if anyone wants them please call now...there are two open and two in my name that are available, so you can free up the two under Steve Sawtelle or either of the other two.

Thanks

Steve

Oops ! Posted to wrong thread ! Can't seem to delete, so can you delete it Dave ? Thanks !

Bill,

I was wondering if the local constabulary will be out in full force for the event. We're mostly legal,
but may be deckless and on the loud side (if it's running :? ) I recall someone with influence
made arrangements last year but can't remember who handled it . . .

Steve:

Thanks for holding these on our behalf. Your actions have made a difference for several of our "new" gatherers this year.

We'll miss seeing you and the tug there.

I thought Garrys had a cabin too.

I'll PM him to confirm his res.

B.

I guess I'm committed now. I reserved a cabin this morning. Thanks Leakcheck.

Boat ain't finished, but runs. I've simultaneously applied for my HIN # and registration. The guy at the DNR in Georgia said it could speed things up a bit, but he said it still could take up to 45 days and by my count that would be a few days before the gathering.

In Georgia, as long as you have the application and proof you paid you are fine. Not sure how it will work in Alabama.

Maybe explain what you are doing(the gathering) to a supervisor and get some sort of letter(good luck) explaining that the HIN & title have been applied for

The Marine Police office is right there by the parking lot at the boat ramp. They almost got Ken last year. But, that smooth talking sucker convinced them.

In Alabama the MP are great about the HIN#. If you request them to expedite they make every effort to come to you and inspect the boat and get you going. Now, the license office is another story.
