Oyster is bringing a firepit and a little bit of wood.

If anyone else has some scrap wood that will be much appreciated.

The fire was much appreciated last year at night!!

This is when it starts to get a little more fun! People start making a commitment and you can start real planning.

Now you are talking!.

I was worried that you may consider tofu and cottage cheese as health food!!

Give me some natures best red meat not full of chemicals and a good glass of cabernet (some might prefer a beer and that is ok with me) and I am set.

Maybe the Brantucks can go all out and bring along some 2 buck chuck. :D

Belay that. You most likely don't know this but there is a quarantine on any firewood brought in from north of Kentucky because of the real possibility of there being some undesirable insects that the park services are trying to control.

I know that everyone would have good intentions but I would hate myself if I ever thought that I had in some way contributed to a problem that others were trying to prevent. I first heard about this when Miss Connie and I were thinking about doing some camping in the Smokies. Here, check out this link:

http://www.southernforests.org/ht_firewood.htm

Oh, BTW, Miss Connie is bringing salad and I'm going to wup us up some family recipe chess pies. I'll most likely just bring the ingredients and bake them in the cabin. That way they'll be really fresh and warm. Mmmm I'm getting a sugar buzz just thinking about it.

Good call, Dave.

I was just about to load a couple of armloads of good northern hardwood logs into the boat to bring down. I thought we were more worried about your Southern Beetles coming up here... oh well.

But back to the main topic... Food...

Are we covered?

The Canadians are providing Sunday breakfast. Is anyone doing Saturday? If not... we can "improvise" on Friday to make sure we get fed both mornings.

We can share gear across Saturday and Sunday. We will have most of the stuff for cooking, but capacity may be tight. It would be great if a few people could bring an electric griddle and extension cord.

Thanks.
Bruce.

If I can get some help, I'll do 3 egg omelets on Saturday morning. I make a really killer omelet but it would be quite a bit of labor to feed everyone if I had to do it alone. What say? Anyone want to pitch in on that endeavor?

Dave - I already raised my hand to be general kitchen flunky since I am coming down to steal everyone's ideas, I figured I had to pay in some manner or another.
